The Romantic Ramblings of Mary Middleton
I'm afarid that I do not have any photographs of myself on my computer at the moment. and I am sorry to say that I am not completely computer literate. Perhaps one of the other members will be kind enough to sort it out for me.
Unlike Judy, Rachel and Sue, I have only been writing creatively for about ten years, when I became a member of the Lampeter Writers Workshop and since then have I have become a member of two other writing groups, Cwrtnewydd Scribblers being the one nearest home.
When Kathy Miles of L.W.W. asked me if I would read some of my poems at the Lampeter Festival I had only been a member of the group for less than 2 years and it was a moment I will never forget. I felt that I was now a recognised poet. But I still have a lot to learn.
My other interests include making home made wine, spinning and peg looming. I learnt to spin about 15 years ago and I spin every day. I was living on a smallholding with my husband and the five bottle lambs that I'd been given grew into 42 sheep. It was the eldest of my two daughters who suggested that I might like to learn to spin. The idea of making my own wool appealed. It took a weekend to learn the craft and after 15years I'm still hopefully perfecting it.
Now we live in a small cottage that really is not big enough to swing a cat in.
As well as two daughters and their partners, I have two grandsons.
I have been published in two Lampeter Women's Workshop and one Poets and Peasants Anthologies.
